Privacy Policy
What we collect, why we collect it, who else handles it, how long it is kept and how to get it back or have it deleted.
We collect what we need to send you the thing you asked for, to book a session and to do work you have engaged us for. We do not sell your information and we do not swap lists with anybody. You can ask for a copy of what we hold, or ask us to delete it and we will do it.

01Who we are
This website is run by KAB Consultants Pty Ltd (ABN 48 163 887 367), trading as The Exit Strategy Group. We are responsible for the personal information described on this page and we handle it under the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles.
- Website: readyforexit.com.au
- Email: info@theexitstrategygroup.com.au
- Address: PO Box 5107, Middle Park VIC 3206
Kerry Boulton runs this business herself. Privacy enquiries come to her, not to a support desk.
This policy is written in plain English on purpose. If a line in it is unclear, email and ask.
02What we collect
We collect what we need to give you the thing you asked for, to book a session and to deliver work you have engaged us for. Nothing else.
The Readiness Scorecard
Your answers to the twenty questions, the three pillar scores and the Will score they produce, plus your email address when you ask for the rest of the result. We use the email to send you the result and the follow-up that goes with it. You can unsubscribe from any of it.
We never report an average and we never report a combined total. The lowest pillar is the one we name, because that is the honest read.
The Value Gap Check
The figures you type in, which are revenue, owner-adjusted profit and customer concentration, plus your email address. We keep them so the result can be sent to you and so Kerry can prepare properly if you go on to book a session. The range it shows is indicative, not a valuation.
The Sellable Business Advantage
Your name and email when you register, so we can send the link and the reminders.
Booking a session
Sessions are booked through a widget hosted in TekMatix, which is the customer system this business runs on. It collects your name, email, phone number and the time you choose. Then it puts the session in the diary.
The application form
Your revenue band, headcount band, years trading and your written answers about where the business is up to. We use it to work out whether we can help you and to prepare for the session. Kerry reads every answer herself.
Your email address, your name where you have given it, plus whether you opened or clicked a message. That is how we know what is worth sending and what is not.
The licensed assessments
Value Builder and ExitMap are third-party instruments this business holds a licence to use. If you complete one, your answers go to that provider as well as to us and that provider's own privacy policy governs what it holds and what it sends you. Ask us and we will point you to the right one.
Sessions and recordings
Sessions may be recorded and transcribed so you get a record of what was agreed. We tell you at the start if a session is being recorded and you can ask us not to. Recordings and transcripts are held inside this business's own systems. They are not published, they are not sold and they are not shared with anyone outside the work.
Analytics
This website still carries a tag container that was set up years ago for an analytics property that stopped collecting in 2023. It is not reporting anything today and it is being removed. If measurement is added later, this section will name it and say what it records before it starts.
Advertising
There is no advertising pixel on this website. Nothing here is following you around other websites. If that changes, this section will name the pixel, say what it records and say how to opt out, before it goes on rather than after.
Paying
Nothing on this website has ever been sold, so no card details are collected here and none are held. When a paid product launches, payment will be handled by a payment provider that holds the card details rather than us and this section will name it before the first payment is taken.
03Why we use it
- Because you asked us to. Sending your scorecard result, your value gap range, the training link or our emails. You can withdraw that at any time.
- To do what we agreed. Preparing for a session and delivering the work you have engaged us for.
- To run the business properly. Keeping records of applications, sessions and clients. Keeping the site secure.
- Because the law says so. Tax and accounting records.
We do not sell your information and we do not swap lists with anybody.
04Who else handles it
These companies handle information on our behalf. Each one only gets what it needs to do its job.
| Who | What they do with it |
|---|---|
| TekMatix | The customer system. Holds the booking widget, most of the forms on the site and the client records. The other platforms below are being consolidated into it |
| Beehiiv | Sends the newsletter and holds the email list. It is seeded once out of TekMatix and then runs on its own |
| Mailchimp | Two legacy email accounts, one for The Exit Strategy Group and one for the free book funnel. Being retired |
| Infusionsoft | A legacy list that has not been migrated yet |
| JotForm | One of the forms on the site |
| b2bapp.io | One of the forms on the site |
| Value Builder | Runs the licensed readiness assessment if you complete it. Also sends its own follow-up email under this business's branding |
| ExitMap | Runs the second licensed assessment |
| Vimeo | Hosts the videos on the site and counts how much of one is watched |
| The tag container on the site, which is being removed | |
| Meta | The advertising account. Paused, with no pixel installed |
| Website host | Hosts this website and its backups |
Some of these are based outside Australia. Where personal information goes overseas we take reasonable steps to see that it is handled consistently with the Australian Privacy Principles. If you want to know where a particular provider holds your information, ask us and we will tell you.
Being straight about this. Your information currently sits across several form endpoints on several platforms, including two email accounts that do not know about each other. That is being consolidated onto one system. This page will be shorter and truer when it is and anything left behind on a platform we retire gets deleted rather than parked.
05Cookies
Cookies are small files a website puts on your device. This site uses the ones it needs to work, such as keeping a form secure and remembering that you have already taken the scorecard.
We are not running advertising cookies today. If that changes, you will be asked first and this section will list them.
You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings. Parts of the site may stop working properly if you do.
06How long we keep it
- Email list: until you unsubscribe, or after two years with no opens and no clicks.
- Scorecard and value gap answers: two years, so a later conversation starts from where you actually were.
- Applications and session notes: two years from the application.
- Recordings and transcripts: the length of the engagement and two years after it ends, then deleted. Ask for one to go sooner and it goes sooner.
- Tax and accounting records: five years, because the Australian Taxation Office requires it.
07Your rights
Under the Australian Privacy Principles you can ask us to:
- Tell you what we hold about you and give you a copy.
- Correct anything that is wrong or out of date.
- Delete it.
- Stop using it for marketing. Every email has an unsubscribe link and that link works on its own.
To have your information deleted: email info@theexitstrategygroup.com.au with "Delete my information" in the subject line. We will confirm it is done within 30 days. Anything we have to keep by law, which is mostly accounting records, we will tell you about and we will keep nothing else.
If you think we have handled your information badly, tell us first and we will try to sort it out. You can also complain to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner at oaic.gov.au or on 1300 363 992.
08Email and the Spam Act
Marketing email is sent under the Spam Act 2003 (Cth). Every message says who sent it and carries an unsubscribe link. Unsubscribing takes you off the list without you having to email anybody or explain yourself.
Here is the part most policies leave out. More than one system sends email under this business's name at the moment: the newsletter, the customer system and the follow-up that comes with the licensed readiness assessment. Unsubscribing from one of them stops that one. If you want off all of them at once, email info@theexitstrategygroup.com.au and say so. Kerry will then take you off every list herself. Consolidating them into one is exactly why the work described above is happening.
09Keeping it safe
Accounts are protected by passwords and, where the platform offers it, two-factor authentication. Access is limited to Kerry Boulton and the small number of people who help her run the site and the marketing.
10Changes and contact
If we change this policy we change the date at the top. If a change matters, we will say so in an email rather than leave you to find it.
